Dr. Alex B. Avanessian received his DDS degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1995 followed by residency in periodontology at Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester. While completing his specialty training, Dr. Avanessian engaged actively in scientific and clinical research as well as a vigorous teaching and lecture schedule. Practicing full-time from 1998-2003 in Albany, NY, he returned to his native Southern California in 2004 by entering into a practice in La Jolla limited to periodontal therapy with comprehensive services in implant dentistry, oral plastic surgery and periodontal microsurgery. Dr. Avanessian is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has committed himself to on-going learning by completing hundreds of hours of C.E. annually. He is an active member in many professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, the California Society of Periodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society where he currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors and as a delegate to the California Dental Association.

Dr. Paul Davis is a general dentist and has been in private practice in San Diego since 1979. A 1972 graduate from Wittenberg University with a B.A., he graduated from Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1975. Dr. Davis spent two years in the U.S. Navy where he received extensive training in oral surgery, endodontics and restorative dentistry. He has done postgraduate training in esthetic dentistry, orthodontics and advanced dental implant reconstruction. He has been restoring implant rehabilitated patients since 1980 and has lectured nationally on implant dentistry many times over the last 15 years. Dr. Davis is a co-founder of both The San Diego Dental Implant Group and the Rancho Santa Fe Dental Implant Study Club.

Dr. Randy W. Garland received his DDS degree from the USC School of Dentistry in 1988. After practicing general dentistry for seven years in Oceanside, CA, he entered the post-doctoral residency program in Endodontics at Loma Linda University where he received his Endodontic certification in 1997. Dr. Garland has maintained a specialty practice in Endodontics in Encinitas for the past 10 years. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, San Diego County Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Ed Nutting Endodontic Study Club. He currently lives in Carlsbad with his wife, Kim and sons Adam and Jason.

Dr. Lind Dr. Jeff Lind has practiced dentistry for 22 years in San Diego. Throughout that time he has been commited to learning the latest and most advanced techniques to provide the highest quality dentistry available. He belongs to the Summit Dental Study Group, the Ed Nutting Endo Study Group, and the Rancho Santa Fe Implant Study Group.

Jeff, as he likes to be called, lives in the UTC area. He enjoys being active with sports and physical fitness and has a passion for world travel. Jeff strives for perfection in dentisty and is committed to professional development through continuing education.

Dr. Lindblom Dr. Fred Lindblom received his BA from California State University at Northridge in 1975. He graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry, chicago in 1979. Following graduation he completed a General Practice Residency Program at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

He has been in private practice in San Diego since 1983. He is a member of the ADA, CDA, San Diego County Dental Society and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has been a member of the San Diego Summit Study Group since its inception. Dr. Lindblom resides in La Mesa with his wife, Lora and his two children.

Dr. Michael Miroue graduated from Loyola Dental School in 1971, first in his class and summa cum laude, with the Alpha Omega Award for Scholarship. In 1975, Dr. Miroue received both his Certificate and Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Washington in Seattle. He was honored with the Riedel Award in recognition of his thesis. Dr. Miroue is presently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, and Alpha Sigma Nu (The National Jesuit Honor Society).

Dr. Dan Roberts received his D.D.S. degree from USC. He practiced general dentistry for four years before completing his postdoctoral residency in periodontics at Oregon Health Science University. Dr. Roberts has practiced periodontics in the North County area for over 15 years. He is a member of the CDA, ADA, California Society of Periodontology, and Rancho Santa Fe Dental Implant Study Club. Dr. Roberts’ goal is to service the needs of his referring offices by supporting treatment plans, providing timely communication and returning a happy patient. His specialty is cosmetic connective tissue grafting, crown lengthening, dental implants and treatment of moderate to advanced Periodontitis. Dr. Roberts resides in Encinitas with his wife, Kathy, and two children, Addy and Joseph.

Dr. Graham Simpson received his D.D.S. degree from Emory University Dental School in 1980, and completed the Post Graduate Prosthodontics Program at Emory University in 1982. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of Media Relations Committee and Chairman of Legislative Committee for the San Diego Dental Society, as well as being a co-founder and past President of the San Diego Prosthodontics Society. He currently serves as a clinical instructor for the San Diego Mini-Implant Residency Program. Some of the lectures presented by Dr. Simpson are: “Surgical Guide Fabrication”, “Immediate Loaded Implant Restoration One Tooth To Full Reconstruction” and “Centric Relation and Occlusion Design”. Dr. Simpson has been in private practice in San Diego since 1982, specializing in prosthodontics with emphasis in TMD, implant and esthetic reconstruction.

Dr. Spector

Dr. Sidney Spector has practiced Periodontics in San Diego since 1979, after three years practicing in suburban Chicago and teaching at the Loyola University School of Dentistry where he completed the Periodontal specialty program. He received his D.D.S. from Indiana University in 1974 and Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in 1970. He has served on the Board of Directors of both the San Diego County Dental Society and the California Society of Periodontists. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Mr. Jim Panigall graduated from St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA in 1986 with a degree in biology. Jim then joined the United States Navy to become a Naval Aviator. Earning his wings in 1988 he flew the EA-6B tactical aircraft, based on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Saratoga. He served with distinction and was awarded five decorations for valor. Choosing to leave the service to enter the business world, Mr. Panigall joined Burkhart in 1996 as Branch Manager in the San Diego area. He has dedicated himself to support local dentists in their efforts to continually enhance their skills, and enjoy success in the practice of dentistry. His service as an advisor to Summit Dental Study Group allows him to effectively respond to these needs in the dental community and is supported by Burkhart through their company motto, “Integrity. Knowledge. Client Success”. Jim and his wife Christa reside in San Diego with their four children.
